July 4, 2014

Fourth of July weekend!

1st up.  My cute Bethany dressed up in her red white and blue waving a flag.  Sure I would have loved to get one of all the kids but that is so unrealistic.  So I settled for this one!.

Next up the block party we had.  So much fun.  So many friends.  So much food and so many fireworks.  The kid loved throwing poppers, endless sodas, running around the neighborhood with so many kids.  We played baseball, Kate and about 12 other 7 and 8 year olds made cotton candy, we filled our entire wheelbarrow with fireworks to be set off.  We even blocked off the street for our big party.  Also a picture of Jake at the party with his week old beard.  He never lets it grow so here is is kind of documented- but it is mostly blonde so you can't see most of it.  It was maybe one of the best moments of my summer so far cuddled up on a blanket on our front lawn with all the kids laying in our laps watching fireworks late into the night.

The next day we took the kids to see How to Train Your Dragon, but Bethany and I went and shopped while they watched because she can't sit through a movie and mom would rather shop anyways.  Then we picked up the family when their movie was over and went to the splash pad. It was kind of windy though.  So then we went to dinner.  Next up home to set up the tent and roast marshmellows for a campout in the backyard.  The kids thought it was the best day EVER!  Sam even said other than father sons it was the best day of his life.  We all watched fireworks until almost 11 at night that we all going off in the sky.  Then the kids slept until almost 9 am a first in their entire lives.

Next up, Kate let Jake pull out her first lost baby tooth.  The adult tooth behind was all the way up almost so it really just needed to be pulled.  She was scared but proud when it was out.  The tooth fairy came of course and left her two dollars.
