29th Birthday

This was my birthday cake this year. The prettiest cake I think I have ever been made for my birthday. No offense to Jake, usually he make me a chocolate cake for my birthday which is very kind. They are just never so lovely. This cake was made by my sis in law, Lisa. Who knowing Jake was away at scout camp for my birthday came up and brought me dinner and this cake, and insisted she give me a pedicure. I would have taken the adult company for the day and called it good, but she is an extra kind sister in law.... obviously.
I also had many gifts delivered all day. These flowers Jake sent from camp were surprising and beautiful. Along with my new laptop Jake got me, and a bag I had ordered for myself both happened to come that day too. I think my favorite part of the day was the kids singing me Happy Birthday. I had no idea Sam knew all the words.
When Jake returned on Saturday we celebrated again. Nothing like 2nd birthday. The kids each got me a simple gift from the store, just because they enjoy wrapping and giving the gifts. Kate usually is really great at thinking of something, but Jake says this time she was trying to convince him I would like Princess Games and dolls. She may have caught on.

Kate has been planning my birthday for a long time. Every time she sees some place she wants to go she will say "Mom, You could go there for your birthday" Birthdays are a big deal to her. So when she asked where I wanted to go, I picked a new Monkey Mountain Place we had talked about last week. Kate didn't even notice that I didn't go down the slide once. It was really just a fun evening out all together with the kids. Plus watching the kids have fun is really my favorite thing anyway. We also went out to Pizza, my newest constant craving.

Jake and I had planned to celebrate my birthday on Monday- yes 3rd birthday- because that is when he would be home and we could get a babysitter. I had secretly hoped we wouldn't get to because I would be having a baby on Monday. Historically, I always have my children on Monday, and though it was very early, I have been having contractions everyday for the past week or more so I was hopeful. Hopeful and wrong.
As usual Jake planned a fun evening for us. Dinner and an adorable play at the Hale Center called "The HIT". We had a wonderful evening soaking in what has been our first date in over a month, and will likely be our last with out a newborn tagging along for a long time.

If you count the combined family birthday we had on Sunday with my family- it was really 4 little birthdays for me. I feel so celebrated.
