Family Pictures!

I love my little family
We received our pictures on CD today. Here they all are.
They aren't perfect, but they are good.
I'm so happy to have them.
And am taking recommendations of what and how to print and arrange them.

What hits me when I look at these pictures are
1. I need to loose some weight {still}
2. My children need to gain some weight- except for that fat baby yo!
3. My children are little. I mean they are all so young and little, no wonder I feel constantly bombarded with the needs of others. I really have three babies. Yes one will be five next week. But that is basically a bunch of babies.
4. My children try so hard to be good. Really hard.
5. We all look so alike. I like it.
6. I think the best picture really is the silly one. It is just so much more true to our life, then the pretty walk together pictures.
7. I wish I could just sit outside in the perfect weather like it was the night we took these with my little family and play every minute of every day.

Let it not be more than 2 years before we do pictures again, even if I am a stress case up til the minute they are done.

More Pictures of Three

Our best take.
Sam stares at Marianne's belly button in shock
All three non interested in having their picture taken

During our photo shoot last night.
In my mind these photos were going to be adorable, colorful and perfect.
Then I realized if I could get two of the three kids to smile at the camera at a time that would be pure luck. Three.... nearly impossible.
There were bribes involved even, but no success.
I get other people's children to smile on cue for photos all the time, only my own refuse to listen.

Sigh.

Pictures

This is not the cutest picture- but it is so her face. She makes this "are you kidding me" or "are you serious?" face at me all the time.

I attempted to take some newborn pictures. You know the kind where the newborn is sleepy and moldable. Except I kept trying to move, pose and remove her clothes while sleeping, and she kept waking up. So I ended up interrupting 4 perfectly good naps for nothing. On the 4th try, she stayed asleep for a few minutes so I was able to get something. Lets not even talk about how I will never have a good picture of my entire family again, because trying to get three small children to pose, smile and not move is an impossible task.

Who Has the Cutest Kids?

Its not really a question.
I finally took pictures to mark turning 2 and 4 tonight of the kids.
We got 15 minutes in the wind in clean clothes after dinner.
it makes me so happy to have photos to mark the year.
They really were troopers in the cold without sweatshirts.
As their reward (bribe) for 15 minutes of mostly undistracted smiles- they got to pick out a treat from the checkout line at the grocery store a few minutes later.
it is so nice when pictures are painless.

Family Pictures

I've been doing a lot of family photos for people this fall.
The worst thing about this is that is makes me desperate for my own.
I hate that I look on my computer and have thousands of images from other peoples families and very few of my own.
So I made everyone dress in coordinating clothing last week, sit outside in the cold and forced them to smile while I tried to get a picture.
it went well .... or...
I set up the tripod. I would set the timer. Jake would have Kate sitting with him. I would run and get Sam from playing in the sticks, and try to pose us both before the timer went off. This often resulted in a picture of my behind as I ran towards the camera, or a picture without Sam and I in it at all. {which I still prefer to the ones of my backside) though 3/4 of the pictures are literally missing a family member, we did get one... count that one, with everyone in it, with their hands not covering their faces, or clapping, or sword fighting with sticks. and 2 almost 3 people of the 4 are even smiling.
But I guess at least we have a picture documenting our family today.
And though they are not worth printing and putting up in our home,
I think they will at least do for our Christmas cards this year.
