Lasts weekend we decided to take the kids to the zoo. The weather was suppose to be cool and we had not been for over a year. It is strange how we plan our free time around what we think would make our kids the happiest, I guess that is because there is nothing better than hearing Kate squeal in delight.
We let Kate ride the Merry- Go-Round. She took forever to decide what she wanted to ride and in the end decided on a ladybug.
I had brought some popcorn for Kate to munch on. Although she didn't really eat much of it- she would not let me carry it for her- hence most of our pictures she has it in her hands.
This tiger was one of Kate's favorite things. She sat and watched him for a while. He was sitting right next to the glass and eating. Although I can't understand why someone would devote their lives and career to animals (ie. zookeeping) I would agree that this tiger was beautiful.
I am not sure why Jake always gets stuck posing by the fake animals.
Kate and I check out the giraffe's.
Lisa decided to meet us there and hang out with us a the zoo. It is always nice to have her around- more arms to hold children equals more fun for everyone.
Samuel is always such a good trooper. He remained his content self even though he missed naps and wouldn't eat while at the zoo, and it was a little cold, not to mention he can't really see/ doesn't really care to see/ animals and had to sit in the stroller for half a day.
One of the funniest things about our zoo trip would be Kate talking about it for days before (Reference the post last week) when Kate was asking me to see different animals at the zoo. Through out the week she got stuck on camels- talking about camels, asking about camels, wanting to see camels eating- I have no idea why camels. We spent two hours at the zoo and it looked like it was wrapping up. We hadn't seen any camels. Then we just happened upon them as we were walking out. Kate is still talking about them now. Good think or she may have been disapointed.
