July 2, 2014

There is a secret little place I know of in Heber.  I know of lots of secret places in Heber, but one in particular is my favorite.  It has boardwalks over rivers with trees and hiking trails, bridges, and rocks, and if you are lucky some moose, or deer, or beavers or something to see.  Picnics are kind of my favorite thing too.  Something about being outside when you normally are inside, no mess, different food.  I could spend every evening letting kids play nearby and laying in the shade having a picnic.  These people of mine are my favorite too. They are funny and happy and messy and kind.  So picnics in my favorite place with my favorite people are hard to beat

The kids have been wanting to have some kind of sale- like a lemonade stand.  So wanting to help but be a bit different we went to the store bought about $30 in ice cream and popsicles, filled an igloo with ice, made signs, and started selling them while walking around the neighborhood.  It was super hot- so thankfully we had an igloo of ice cream to cool us down.  The kids sold about 40- at about 10cents a piece... so you do the math at how profitable our venture was.  The kids ate about 4 themselves just while we walked around, and we came back soooo hot.  It was a different adventure to put in our summer play book for sure.  The kids were super happy how interested all the kids in the neighborhood were as they put together their little stand and signs and all waited until the kids told them we were open then proceded to buy treats from them.  When we drug our wagon back into the culda sac the same kids were there anxious to hear all about it and Kate and Sam were proud to show off all the money they had made. I guess they were the coolest kids on the block in everyones book this day.

Lisa and Rodney and their kids came up for the day last week.  We played outside, we playing inside and then we all cleaned up and went out to dinner.  Where kids were mostly behaved then got to play in a creek then got balloons by a passing clown.  Another hard to beat evening.  Bethy can't understand why the treats are in a glass case at the resturant though.

We also had three families over that we have been friends with since before Jake and I married.  Currently all living in Utah.  There soon to be 12 kids between us all now so life has changed but good friends are good friends no matter the time that has passed or the millions of kids later. I took one picture of all the kids eating dinner.
