Increasingly Interested in....

Each kid has something they seem to be increasingly interested in lately.

For Kate- luckily- that has been taking naps.
She feel asleep twice last weekend on the couch with us talking and playing all around her, as she has even been asking to go take naps. (not that she ever falls asleep)
This new interest in napping has me thinking she might be growing (cross our fingers)
as she has not taken a nap (unless it was a 20 minute drive induced nap) since around the time Sam was born.
It does have me laughing that our nevernapper has been just falling asleep in the middle of life lately. It is really nice to have both kids take a nap during the day. Even if it is not at the same time (wouldn't that be a miracle). I will take one nap a week from her for as long as I can get it.

Samuel's ever- growing- but-may-have-reached-a-pinnacle interest is shoes.
Sam can't get enough of shoes.
It started around his birthday really.
He had some squeaky shoes he wanted to wear all the time.
Then it turned into any shoes from the moment he wakes up until the moment he goes to bed.
In this house seeing as how he is the only little boy, most often he finds wrong size wrong gender shoes to wear.
Dad's tennis shoes and Mom's flip flops are a hit when found, but the most popular find is a girl's shoes, just a bit big and often adorned with sparkles or princess dress up heels.
Sometimes he can get them on himself.
And sometimes he just grunts and whines at you pushing the shoe into your hand until you put it on his foot. Sometimes he will say the word "shoes" which sounds a lot like "juice" something else he is known to request often.
I use to think he did this because he had figured out that wearing shoes meant going outside.
And he thought if he could get the right shoes on we would let him go outside.
And this maybe is how it started.
But it does not seem to be the only reason for wanting shoes anymore.
Because sometimes we are already outside barefoot when he makes a shoe request.
