#1-2   Last Friday in the morning looking for something to keep Sam and Mari busy I printed off several pages of coloring pages and hole punched them. Let the kids help me string them together with red yarn and told them they were making a book.  Sam worked on that book for hours all day.  Coloring his best, and telling me the story.  Writing letters all over the place to tell the story-  It was about Captain American fighting Cat woman and saving a beach from sharks.  He was proud.  Mari had a Mickey mouse character book which she also enjoyed very much and even took to church to work on two days later.  I also took Mari, Beth and Sam to the library, Sam and Mari know what to do- they search out books and take them to read on the big carpeted steps.  Also Mari learned how to get her own shoes on.  What a great day.

#3.  It was pouring on Friday afternoon. Even though the bus stop is two houses away I thought I'd go pick up Kate from the bus stop- it was raining that hard, but I was too late and as I opened the garage I saw her racing down the sidewalk.  When she came in the garage I saw something fuzzy in her sweatshirt-  I thought it was a cat she may have rescued from the rain- so I was relieved to find that she had won a stuffed pig somehow at school.  She was THRILLED. To the Moon.  It was perhaps the best thing in the whole wide world that had ever happened to her. It sounded like some kind of raffle.  Adding to it the walk a thon- where they also got treats, the buying of hot lunch which she loves to do, and no homework- it was a first graders dream Friday!  She has been toting the stuffed pig around for days now.  So lucky to be the first person in her class to win a prize.  It was such a happy thing and gave a great tone to the weekend.

We spent the rest of Friday eating pizza and watching Mary Poppins as a family.

#4  Bethany bundled for a chilly soccer morning
#5  Kate cheers too- She is not doing soccer right now because she is doing dance instead, but was happy to play around with other kids and watch.

#6-9  Sam poses for some pre- game pictures.  Also with buddy Ethan.
#7  Grandma Anderson came to cheer Sam on.  Helps keep Mari off the feild.

#8-11  Sam's soccer game.  He is doing so much better than last year. He gets the game!  And he couldn't be more thrilled about playing.  He is in heaven- especially with Dad as his coach.

#12  The rest of Saturday was spent outside.  We worked- the kids helped a bit, then played.  Mari jumping on the trampoline.

#13  Kind of a picture of the backyard.  We are getting closer to finished.  The lawn is in and growing well.

#14  I have elephant zuchinni.  Seriously.  Do you need zuchinni.  Like 8 ones the size of your baby.  Because I've got them.

#15.  More lawn backyard shots.  You can see all the kids on our sucken tramp in the back.  It seems to be a popular place for the neighborhood kids to gather.

#16-17  We went to dinner at my parents, but we had an hour between arriving home and having to leave again so we went for a "Moose Hunt"  We have actually seen several moose up this pass before but not this time.  It was what we called it to get the kids more excited that for a drive.  Mari shouted at one point "mama, mama, a zebra mama!"  She got the hunt part anyway. We didn't see moose or zebra for that matter but the mountains were gorgeous and I wish I'd have brought a camera not just a phone to capture the hot orange leaves.

So many great pictures in this one! I love the first one of Sam coloring, and the first picture of the mountains?! Stunning.
