Raspberry Picking.
We went for our families 2nd time ever. Last time we went was right before we moved to California and Marianne was just weeks old. This time she was right in the berries with Sam and Kate. When I told them it was time to go "no we are having to much fun!" they exclaimed. We picked a ton of berries. And had such a pleasant fall evening. Raspberry picking never works out perfectly for us. Last time Mari as a baby had a pop-explosion all over me and her and I were covered without subsitute clothing in poop- not to mention it took us almost two hours to get to the farm because we got lost. This time we arrived and the farm was closing for the night. Even though it was only 5pm. However there was another family there who said that the farmer allowed people to pick when they were closed as long as they made a donation to the missionary fund on Sunday. How kind. So we did pick, as well as left some money for the farmer and donation. I'm glad our fun evening was not ruined. The next day with Sam's help we made several quarts of freezer jam, and froze lots of berries for other things as well. I hope we continue berry picking ever year. It is such a fun experience.

(Catching up, here!) Raspberries are seriously my favorite berries. how fun that you guys got to go pick them! We did a lot of strawberries in NC, and some blackberries, too... but I never found a good raspberry farm.
