First off for the morning we headed to the San Diego Safari Zoo. There were animals, and we went on a safari in a little tram. But the highlight times a million was riding in the hot air balloon. The kids were nervous at first. But Jake and I both agreed- especially as we see hot air balloons out of dinning room window on a daily basis, that we would never have this cheap an opportunity to ride in a hot air ballon again. So we forced the fearful children onto the balloon. Then went 400 feet in the air. And then the liked it. We toured the animals for a while but kids got tired and we headed back to our hotel. That afternoon was spent at the beach again of course. The kids enjoyed collecting shells, getting buried like mermaids, and who doesn't like watching chubby babies in swim suits in the sand. Then it was out to ice cream and dinner. There was also swimming in the hotel pool and helping ourselves to the hot chocolate bar at the hotel this day too.
Being in the car exploring new places with Annie soundtrack and the Road trip Mix I made with the perfect weather and happy children made this a trip I won't forget. Often I am stressed on vacation, but this vacation was different. It was more care free. Perhaps it was because we spent hours on the beach shore or perhaps it was because we don't have any babies. No matter the reason I didn't want it to end. Nothing beats hanging out as a family all day every day.
