April 18, 2015

My Bethy love turned two.  The day we were driving back from California.  The next day was Sunday and we celebrated her birthday.  After church and after naps.
I wasn't feeling well, so Kate, Sam and Marianne went to work making the party with my help.  They were sure to include a "gift card" and a piece of licorice from their own stashes and creations.  They decorated with Jungle Animals and all the party stuff I had bought before hand.
We made it a surprise party. When she woke up we got he out of her crib to the kids shouting Happy Birthday and throwing balloons at her.  She as so excited.  And knew and understood everything exactly.  She went right over to the fire place and opened her presents.  And she loved every single thing.  She got a care Bear, a Doc Mcstuffins kit and a curious George jack in the box- something she had seen at a friends house and loved.  She loved it all, and loved all the attention and loved that her siblings were letting her call the shots.  Next we told her that we had a monkey cake for her.  She covered her mouth in surprise.  It was the best moment of the whole day.  Then she ran over to the kitchen to see.  Her reactions were so perfect all day.  She was so delighted and happy and excited and understanding.   Next she got to blow out her candles.  A few times.  She finally got it after a few tries.  Her happiness about everything made the day perfect.  You can see in the pictures how truly happy she was. She even sung "Happy Birthday" with us.  As we ate cake we talked about all the things we love about our Beth.  We noted how compassionate she was, how silly and fun, and cuddly and loving and happy.  We love our Bethany so much.  Her personality is shinning lately as she is understanding more, communicating more and we love every minute.
